Company Overview

Sinar Meadow is a company that has operated in Indonesia since 1990. From the Indonesian Capital City, Jakarta, Sinar Meadow produce palm oil based fats and consumption oils; including margarine, shortening, special fats (Specialty Fats) and various kinds of cooking oil for industrial use. Users targeted on this website are bakery entrepreneurs, food factory industries (biscuits, snacks, sweets), hotels, restaurants, and catering services. The strength of Sinar Meadow compared to other competitors is the quality of products that are maintained, certified, and serving the international market such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, etc. Various brands managed by Sinar Meadow are Gold Bullion, Silver Bullion, Mother's Choice, CITA, Maestro, and Moremade.

Goals

We plan to make this new Sinar Meadow website more informative, easy to use, and added value to users such as the product inquiry feature if the user is interested in ordering a product offered by Sinar Meadow and Find Distributor page for people to find the nearest distributors in the city.

Problem

Inspiration

We started to look for inspirations with warmth and playful composition for styling the website. We found that AQUA Forte and Chobani has a purpose and mood website that describes itself as warmth, playful, and refreshment. That is why they are both my benchmark for user interface inspiration. Sinar Meadow's end user is the bakery entrepreneur, hotels, etc. We think that the new key visual would be sharing a piece of recipe paper as the right essence for us to achieve.

The Process

For the first alternative as the benchmark of Chobani, we make the layout more rigid and have a clean & fresh-looking mood. And for the second alternative as the benchmark of AQUA Forte, we make a layout that is more dynamic and has a warmth & playful mood. We also design torn recipe paper that will make it look like being given to your loved ones. The clients liked both alternatives, but they prefer that we stick to the clean & fresh looking - not too much playful layout, gold color, and keep the torn paper key visual. They prefer the second alternative but still a lot we need to improve.
